Kalispell, Montana

This unique setting in Kalispell, with dramatic views of the Flathead Valley, required preserving and enhancing the native setting while providing for a significant increase in usability.  BBLA designed the Master Plan for the 145-acre park, thoughtfully using rock retaining walls and stone terraces to blend in with the spectacular rock outcropping existing on site.  The Visitor Center, with its panoramic views, was sited to be prominently seen from the entry road, with parking and access hidden from view.  The design included road access, vehicle control measures, visitor center location, equestrian and pedestrian trails and bridges, park overlook areas, and reclamation of disturbed areas of the site.
